Pizza
Pizza is a famous Italian dish savored around the world. The entire credit for the popularity of Pizza in the United States goes to the chain of pizzerias all over the country. While the base and the texture of Pizza remains same across the globe, it's the toppings that differs from country to country. In the United States, you will find the top pizzerias serving pizzas with the toppings of mainly beef, bacon, chicken, ham, and sausage for the non-vegetarians. Other than these famous meat options, Pizzas with veg toppings such as mushrooms, pepperonis, garlic, tomatoes, spinach, etc. are also famous in most restaurants in the United States.
Irrespective of your locality, you will find a variety of different restaurants in your cities offering pizzas of all different types. Pizza is hot favorite among people of all ages in the United States. A large size pizza is enough to feed a family of 3 or 4 at large. Pizza is also the most preferred food whenever a group of friends is hanging out together. Pizza gained popularity in the United States after the American soldiers stationed in Italy returned from World War II.
Over the years, different pizzerias in the United States have developed their own respective regional variations. Pizza gained popularity as the iconic dish in the United States in the second half of the 20th century. Whether you prefer thin or thick crust pizza, you can find a pizza of your preference at the best pizza restaurants in your city.

My review is for the food only, as I have it delivered (yes- they deliver!) and haven't been there in person- yet. Pizza: absolutely one of the best midwest-styled pies I've had. The amount of toppings and cheese they use is almost ridiculous, but their slightly thicker thin crust was totally up to the task and was crispy all the way to the middle. The sauce has a nice bite and the sausage is in large chunks and really tasty. Did I mention how heavy this thing is? If you're solo, you may want to start with the small size- it lasted me two days, and I can really put away pizza. Wings: I've tried both the Cajun and buffalo styles, and both are delicious.Very meaty, crispy skin, juicy and cheap. The Cajun isn't spicy, just savory. The buffalo was just right- not overly hot and the sauce was buttery smooth. Their blue cheese dressing was recently improved and is thick and chunky. Chicken Cordon Blue: Another winner! It has tons of ham and mushrooms, and the most moist and tender chicken breast I've had in a long time. Philly sandwich: Tender with loads of beef. Lots of green pepper and onions, finished with a nice dose of Swiss cheese. I still thought it needed a sauce of some kind, so next time I'll get a side of Au Jus to make it a "fancier" French dip. Reuben sandwich: Huge. Delicious. As others mentioned, the only con is that they use canned mushrooms, but that's not a deal breaker for me, considering how good everything else is. At $17 for a large "garbage" pizza that you'll swear weighs more than a baby, I can forgive this cost-cutting measure. I personally don't mind them, because I just pretend they're escargot. I should also mention that their delivery is usually quick- it rarely takes more than 45 minutes and the food is always hot. Drivers are super friendly... I totally recommend this place for delivery.

Took my daughter to dinner as she had heard good things about Monday night special of large one topping pizza, AND 8 piece fried chicken for $17..First off Skinners is what it is,a local bar and restaurant with a diverse/friendly clientele, and reasonable prices..Food was great! Nicely battered fried chicken and a pizza topped with tons of mozz..Enuf food to easily feed a family of four..We ate less than half, and both of us will have a chicken/pizza encore tomm with the leftovers..Finally service by Maggie was stellar..Recommend!

It is a dive bar, but with really good pizza. Lots of regulars. Ever been to one of those places where it seems like almost everyone knows each other? Skinner's is one of those places. With whatever money they make, they do not put any of it into upkeep. The floor of the bar area is dirty with missing tiles and has definitely not been replaced since this joint opened. Gives it a certain charm, if you ask me. The special of the day on Saturdays is tacos: $1.50 for beef and $2.25 for chicken. Decided to order the tacos and told they were out for the day. WTF? It's only 4:30 in the afternoon. They are also well known for their pizza, so we went with the Factory Special (Sausage, pepperoni, Canadian bacon, bacon bits). They are really not afraid to throw on the cheese when making their pizzas. Almost too much cheese, as I could barely taste the crust. The staff is friendly and the drinks are cheap. $2.50 for stiff Windsor Cokes. I would gladly go back, just not at the top of my list.

Its just a hop and a skip off 35E so I thought we'd give it a try. Skinners appears to be a neighborhood bar that serves some good bar classics, burgers, sandwiches, chicken and pizza. We ordered a french dip, walleye sandwich and a patty melt. I met my match with the french dip. It came on a decent hoagie bun with a flavorful thinly sliced beef. Thinly sliced, but thickly piled its a sandwich for someone with a big appetite. My wife liked her walleye sandwich. The fish was crispy with a good texture. The patty melt came on pumpernickel, a decent version of a classic burger. Several beers on tap ended up electing Surly Furious as their representative to our table. Next visit we try the chicken.

Oh, Skinner's. I think I love you. I haven't been seeing any other restaurants lately, cause they don't compare to you. Your tasty crunchy tots, your magical steak sandwich, your cheap drinks and endlessly entertaining people watching. Your great service for both dine in and takeout. Your bizarre and endearing wall art. The only downside is eating your food all the time will never make me skinny. Love, Courtney

Neighborhood bar, very casual and relaxed. Alaskan Amber for $3. Generous portion of fries. Service was a little slow, but we were kept informed as to the reason, and I wasn't in a hurry anyway. I'd go back.

Some of the best pizza on the east side. Get extra sauce! Sauce has just a bit of a kick but is great. Service is your standard St. Paul type where the bar is operated seperatly from the kitchen so there may be issues. However, it's one of my favorites

I ordered a Mushroom and Swiss Burger and a Large Pizza, I was told around 35 minutes which sounds about right for a pizza. I waited over an hour for my food. Service: 2/10 Taste: I wouldn't know I'm still waiting...

We were scrambling for a last minute party reservation for about 35. We tried all around town and Skinners was the only place that went out of their way to be accommodating for us. The wait staff was so patient and kind (we had a crazy crew) and the food was fast and DELICIOUS. We had no complaints whatsoever. I can't recommend this place more! It's truly a rare treat to have awesome service like that!

Old neighborhood bar and restaurant. Very good sandwiches and burgers. Have not tried the pizza. Some may call it a dive.. but that is part of it's charm. Will be back.

Went here again and dragged siblings/spouses and freeloading college kids with. They loved It too. I had the Philly which was quite good ( steak sandwich better IMO ). My wife had a patty melt she loved. We had a couple trays of nachos which were very good tasting and portioned well. The set my gluten free daughter up with a bun free steak sandwich which was great. They are hip to the gluten free situation with a separate prep area and no weird looks when discussing it server knew what it meant. Eight of us ate and everyone was very happy with their selection. Onion rings are good too. Can't beat the price or service. They had a pizza buffet ending which had 3-4 pizzas there which looked great too. Highly recommend still.

Wednesday steak night is a winner. A decent 8oz steak cooked perfectly to order, with soup or salad, choice of potato, veg and two big pieces of Texas toast for $10. We also tried the chicken wing special (4 wings for $1.50) and were very pleased with the meaty, SPICY Buffalo wings. The server from our first visit came over and said hello. We're already regulars! Next time: reuben pizza. This is a fantastic place.

Let it be known - I personally love a good dive. I went here the the other night with my in-laws...was surprised they suggested going here, as I had never known my mother-in-law to enjoy a dive. Apparently I was wrong!! The waitress was attentive and pretty quick to realize and make sure drinks were full and everyone was happy. She could easily offer suggestions in what to eat when my father-in-law asked and kept our orders straight. It took awhile to get our food, but I am going to say its because it was made fresh - all of it - and nothing was held in warmers. We had wings to start out with - they were HOT (temperature = fresh) and MEATY! We have plain and buffalo - I didn't try any plain but the buffalo was saucy and delicious. I followed up the wings by having a Reuben - it was larger than most places and stuffed beyond capacity with 'kraut and meat. It was definitely on my top ten for Reuben's - easy. My sister-in-law had the potato bacon soup and it looked delicious, my husband and brother in law had burgers - both looking tasty. I plan in definitely going back here. Great food, cheap drinks and crazy good people watching.

a ton of families and groups eat here so they are typically pretty dang busy. The food was decent enough and I would have patronized this place more if they didn't have a huge ass sign on the side of the building supporting a particular political party. It basically was the reason my husband and I decided to never ever go here again. It wasn't on the side of the building when we first started going here but then for some reason they must feel passionate about supporting their political preference enough to lose the customers that feel just as strongly against that candidate.

The portions at this place are gigantic. Everything one orders is for two, except the nachos. Plan on four! I have never met the owner but for a dive bar, his wife is first class! I have to give this place five stars. We order sandwiches and the best pizzas around for lunch at New Art and havent had a complaint in 20 years! I have never heard a complaint anywhere. The Philly has great reviews...if I wasnt so into this pizza Id order it! this place is a great replacement to the now history Grampa Tonys! This is just one more reason I think St Paul is the best city in America!

I've gotta add a star. I've been back here numerous times since my first trip there. I think I'm in $6.95 (or $9.63 with a DC and tax) love with this place! I'm beginning to love this place. I was there last fall and they had sausage and pickle pizza on the buffet with tomato artichoke soup. It was a perfect lunch that day! Of course, in all my return trips I hope they are both there, but not yet. One of these days, I'm going to try the chicken or something else!

This is our 2nd visit here and they have made us regulars! The first time the place was packed and it took a while for our food to come out, but it was worth the wait. The Buffalo wings on the first visit were excellent, the BLT was loaded and I was only able to eat half of the thing, The burger was moist and tasty. We just left Skinners for the second time and I had the French Onion soup - Delicious! I asked Sally, our server, if it was home made and she informed us that her Brother In Law makes all the soups fresh. I told her this was only the second time in years that I've been able to find a decent FO Soup and Kudos to him. Piping hot with enough cheese, bread and onions in the cup. The Chicken Cordon Bleu sandwich was loaded with ham, cheese and mushrooms, the chicken was hot, moist and tender and I ate it all. My partner had the Turkey BLT and again it was loaded with everything and he managed to eat only 3 of the wedges...it was that filling. Excellent dive bar/restaurant. It may take a little longer to get your food served to you but keep in mind that this place has been packed both times and everything is made fresh. We will be back.

Great spot. Yes, it looks divey but there is a reason it's always crowded. Pizza is very good, thinner crust and loaded with toppings. I love their sandwiches, the Marshall in particular. The reuben is one of the better ones I've had (and I've had quite a few)! They are also starting to carry more craft beer - which is a big plus for me! Wednesday steak night is an awesome deal as well and the steak is surprisingly high quality.

Decent pizza buffet during lunch. They offer between 3-4 different types. One was a chicken and artichoke which I would not have expected and it was very good. The red sauce has a kick to it and the crust is thin and a little chewy. The salad bar has the typical iceberg lettuce but also a nice variety of cut vegetables (celery, carrots, cucumbers on the day I visited). All the standard dressings including a very chunky blue cheese which I loved. With a pop and tax my total was about $9.50. I would go back for lunch and would like to check out after work for a drink.

one of the best dives around.. pizza is off the chain so get that.. unpretentious and has all of the familiar symptoms of a dive bar..
(5)Master S.
Three cheers for Skinners! Quite possibly the best bar in Saint Paul! It's cheap, it's comfortable, the food is homestyle, the people working are great. Atmosphere is like a northern tundra roadhouse. You always feel warm walking in here.

Just this: $5.50 pitcher of PBR or High Life specials. Found a coupon for $3 off any large 14" pizza on Thrifty Hipster, too. Pizzas that size run from $11 to $17. Best for a party of four; my boyfriend and I got greedy but were totally pwned when the pizza arrived. It's enormous. Nothing gourmet - the mushrooms and olives were canned - but delicious for a tavern-style pizza There was also a HUGE amount of cheese so please avoid if you are lactose intolerant or hate cheese. The patio looks new and is pretty nice for hanging out when the weather is nice. The bathrooms were small, but really clean. Service was friendly. Definitely will come here again if we're around the St Paul are.

This was the starting place of the inaugural Yelp Pub Crawl. It is a grungy place on Randolph, near Victoria in the West End neighborhood of St. Paul. The place was a lot busier than I had expected, so it was difficult finding all the Yelpers at the bar. They serve cheap drinks here, I believe my beers were $2.25. They also have pretty decent pizza. Much better than your typical bar pizza. For lunch they usually have a cheap meal on special as well. It looks like they have tacos on Saturday. The owner was pretty cool too. He gave my man Thad a free t-shirt, because it took him awhile to find one. After two beers here, we headed over to The Spot, one block away towards West 7th Street.

Cheap drinks, great pizza. Good food, Thursday night bingo.

This place definitely needs a face lift BUT it is a favorite with our group. Great pizza, soups and sandwiches. Unbelievably low food prices. Outdoor patio area for smokers. Gotta add.... I've been here for lunch about three times in the last two weeks. The soups are terrific! Chicken Dumpling, Cabbage Kielbasa, Tomato Tortellini and Potato Bacon, were all first rate, and made in their kitchen. Steak sandwiches are big and the French Dip is huge! Like salads? - one antipasto salad could feed my entire family and it is wonderful! The pizzas are terrific! They now have a website. The menu, specials, events and more info are now available at skinnersmn.com

I came here the other day because of my random sunday mission: to eat a good reuben. I've been to Cecil's and it is delicious, but i wanted to try another place. This place is your typical dive with a better than average menu. The reuben (which i would say was medium-large) was 6 and change dollars which i thought was great considering i could only eat half. Alcoholic beverages are cheap too (always a plus). I will be back.

Best dive bar in town.

Have been going to Skinners now for a few months and I love the food. The place itself isn't the nicest, but there is plenty of seating. The pizza is amazing. They load it up with toppings and cheese---lots of cheese. Their crust is pretty good too. My favorite is the bacon cheeseburger pizza. Have not had one that is better yet-and I am trying to find that will beat it! The blue cheese is amazing---homemade they tell me. Their chicken wings are also just great-they are homemade as well. Check this place out. The pizza and wings are for sure worth it!

As the first stop on the bar crawl I wasn't really sure what I was getting myself and friend into but it turned out to be alright. It is a far cry from the places I've been frequenting more recently since living downtown but its nice every now and then to get some local towny flavor. The bar area is pretty standard for a local bar. Tight with a few booths and the bartender is pretty much handling 5 different conversations and everyones orders, which is usually pretty entertaining. I didn't try any of the food however the kitchen looked pretty cool. (I'm kind of a nerd when it comes to checking out kitchens) So based on that I would like to go back one day to try some of their za.
(3)Aaron W.
BINGO! Great dive bar with cheap drinks. Gf wanted to play Bingo, so we gave it a try on a Thursday night. Enjoyable night with friendly bartenders and some good drunk locals to chat it up. Place was packed for Bingo @8pm, if you are looking to go would suggest getting there earlier. We got there a little before 8 and luckily found a stool at the bar. Look forward to going back.
(5)Sharon C.
They have very good pizza with quality cheese. Also, they have very good sandwiches. Service is a little slow.
(4)Mark H.
Do not miss the lunchtime taco deal on Saturday. I always get two beef tacos and a cola. It's ridiculously good and cheap. Get there around 11:30 for your choice of tables - it can get crowded after lunch. The clientele are mostly neighborhood locals and the staff will get to know you quickly if you come back.
